We’ve reached the conclusion of the 2020-21 NCAA Basketball season. After many cancelations and postponements, we were able to make it to the NCAA Tournament. It was certainly stressful for fans and analysts not knowing if games would even occur.

But somehow, we got through March, and 98% of games in the conference tournaments, NIT, and NCAA Tournament overall. It was unfortunate to lose Duke in the ACC Tournament and the VCU Rams in the Big Dance but we have to be thankful to make it to this past weekend.

And it gave us plenty. Houston, Gonzaga, Baylor, and UCLA made it to the Final Four, with the unbeaten Bulldogs being a major storyline. They and the Bruins played in one of the greatest NCAA Tournament games in recent memory, with Gonzaga winning 93-90 in overtime thanks to a Jalen Suggs banked three-pointer as time expired.

But the Bears had no desire to help finish off an unbeaten season, dominating Gonzaga from start to finish to win the 2021 national championship. The preseason No. 2 team was great all year long and deserved it but it doesn’t take away from the special season the Bulldogs just had.

Now, we turn towards the 2021-22 season, which is around seven months away. There’s going to be plenty of changes on everyone’s rosters, with transfers, high school commitments, and NBA Draft decisions yet to come.

Just look at this at the ultimate “first draft” of which teams will be viewed as contenders for next season. It’s based on the current rosters, along with my personal opinion of which players will go pro early.
