Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has the full support of his All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams. Adams spoke to the media on Tuesday and left no room for interpretation on how he feels about the situation between Rodgers and the Packers.

“I got his back through everything,” said Adams. “He knows where I stand, I’ll stand on a (expletive) mountain and scream on the mountain top that I want him back.”

These were strong words from Adams, who did attend this week’s mandatory minicamp while Rodgers was absent. Rodgers is subject to fines of $93,085 for missing all three days. Head coach Matt LaFleur did not confirm whether or not the team would waive the fines.

As to be expected, a star wide receiver will typically support his Hall of Fame quarterback. Rodgers, of course, deserves some credit for Adams’ emergence as a top NFL wide receiver. Over the last couple of seasons, they have combined for 276 completed passes, 2,371 yards, and 23 touchdowns.

Adams made it clear that he not only supports Rodgers as a teammate but as a friend. He also believes he isn’t the only member of the Packers who shares his stance.

“Obviously, I’m praying that he comes back,” said Adams. “I think we all want him back…when and if he comes back, we’ll welcome him with open arms.”

Rodgers’ disgruntlement remains a mystery as he and members of the front office have chosen not to disclose any details of their dispute. Rodgers’ absence from mandatory minicamp is the strongest inclination he has provided.

Both Adams and Rodgers did not attend voluntary OTAs this spring, however, Adams said it was unrelated to Rodgers’ situation. When it comes to Rodgers’ future with the organization, he is staying positive but doesn’t have any inside knowledge of how things will turn out.

“I’ve got no expectations. I’m just being supportive of my guy and letting it unfold like it does. Obviously, I pray that he comes back. We’re all praying that he comes back.”

This is the second time Adams has publicly supported Rodgers since the feud was reported. However, Adams doesn’t believe his support for Rodgers should be taken out of context. He believes Green Bay’s front office should be working toward getting a player of Rodgers caliber back on good terms.

“I think that any GM, any president, any owner, they should want the type of guys that are backing their players, especially a player like that,” Adams said. “That’s just a good trait to have. It’s not like I’m saying, ‘Forget the front office,’ like I don’t respect what they have going on.”

There have been no updates about a new deal for Adams as he enters the final year of his contract. While Adams is not going to show any displeasure toward the people negotiating his pending contract, he hopes to have his MVP quarterback back in the fold soon.
