With the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery over with, we have our order for the first 14 picks for next month’s draft.
The 2021 NBA Draft is scheduled for July 29th, so there’s still plenty of time to debate over which player will go to which team, but a slew of media outlets dropped their best guesses once the ping pong balls stopped bouncing on Tuesday night. I found eight different mock drafts that were updated since last night’s lottery and there doesn’t appear to be a consensus destination for either of Kentucky’s potentially draftees: Isaiah Jackson and B.J. Boston.
Jackson’s stock is anywhere from the late lottery to the back-half of the first round while Boston is widely viewed as an early second-round pick, although there are a number of different teams that could scoop him up. Only five of the eight mock drafts that I found included second-round picks.
Check ’em out.

Jackson pulling his name out of the NBA Draft Combine is a pretty good indicator that he earned some sort of guarantee from some NBA franchise. Whether or not that team is in the lottery won’t be known until the end of July, but it sounds pretty certain that he’s a lock to go somewhere in the middle of the first round.
As for Boston, the early second round sounds about right for him at this moment. He obviously didn’t live up to expectations during his lone season as a Wildcat, but there will absolutely be a team that takes a chance on the 6-foot-7 wing. Tall, scoring wings are at a premium right now–even more so if they can above-average defense–and Boston fits the mold. He’s got a long way to go before he can become a steady NBA contributor, but he’s long and athletic enough already to be worth the risk. If he can fine-tune his shot and add some pounds to his frame, there’s a good chance that Boston makes an impact at some point in the league.
