The Atlanta Braves are closing in on their first World Series title since 1995. The Braves, who entered Tuesday night with a 3-2 series advantage, have a large lead against the Houston Astros in Game 6 of the 2021 World Series thanks to homers from Jorge Soler, Dansby Swanson and Freddie Freeman. Here's how you can watch Game 6.
Houston started rookie righty Luis Garcia (11-8, 3.48 ERA) on short rest, and he looked fantastic in the first two innings of Game 6, though things unraveled in the third. Soler hit a three-run homer literally out of the ballpark with two outs to give Atlanta a 3-0 lead. Atlanta's lead became 5-0 when Swanson took reliever Cristian Javier deep in the fifth inning. Freddie Freeman added an RBI double later in the fifth and then a solo homer in the seventh to make it 7-0.
As for the Braves, de facto ace Max Fried (14-7, 3.04 ERA) started Game 6 with an extra day of rest. Michael Brantley inadvertently stepped on Fried's ankle on a play at first base in the first inning Tuesday, though Fried shook it off and remained in the game. He escaped a two-on, no-outs situation in the first.
