I hope you all had a great Christmas weekend and enjoyed the marathon of football that it had to offer. For many of you, this weekend just gone would have been your fantasy football championships.
If you were relying on big contributions from Chiefs players then sadly you were out of luck — a bit like the Falcons kicker.
This week’s voters were Pete Sweeney, Ron Kopp and myself.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (1st)
Regular-season goal? Complete.
2. Green Bay Packers (2nd)
The Rodgers-to-Adams combination is lethal.
3. Buffalo Bills (3rd)
I’ve got a feeling that if the Chiefs end up facing the Bills in the AFC championship game, then a lot of people outside of Kansas City will be backing Buffalo for the win.
4. New Orleans Saints (4th)
Alvin Kamara’s Christmas Day domination highlights how well the Chiefs did in containing him.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10th) | This week’s high riser
I’m calling it now: Tom Brady is going to make a lot of noise in the playoffs.
6. Pittsburgh Steelers (11th)
A BIG bounce-back win for the Steelers.
7. Baltimore Ravens (6th)
Not going to lie: I don’t want the Chiefs to face the Ravens in January.
8. Seattle Seahawks (8th)
A far more balanced team these days. Worthy NFC West champions.
9. Tennessee Titans (5th) | This week’s big faller
Ryan Tannehill might just be the most disrespected quarterback in all of football.
10. Indianapolis Colts (7th)
They need to win and get some help in Week 17 to make the playoffs.
11. Miami Dolphins (13th)
We can’t allow Fitz to retire without playing at least one game for the Chiefs. Make it happen, Brett Veach.
12. Cleveland Browns (9th)
COVID hit this team at the worst possible time. So Cleveland.
13. Los Angeles Rams (12th)
It will be down to John Wolford (who?) to steer the Rams to the playoffs.
14. Chicago Bears (16th)
Mitchell Trubisky outperformed both Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson this weekend. Every dog has its day.
15 Arizona Cardinals (14th)
The Cardinals have looked very ordinary in the back half of the season.
16. Washington Football Team (15th)
A wild weekend in Washington ended with Dwayne Haskins being cut. Will Alex Smith be back in time to guide the Football Team into the postseason?
17. San Francisco 49ers (20th)
Add Jeffrey Wilson to the never-ending list of running backs that kill it in San Francisco.
18. Las Vegas Raiders (17th)
A few weeks ago they achieved the impossible win. This week they achieved the impossible loss.
Just win baby. LOL.
19. New York Giants (21st)
Their game against the Ravens was over in the first quarter. The G-men were never in it.
20. Minnesota Vikings (18th)
I can’t imagine supporting the Vikings is much fun.
21. New England Patriots (19th)
That poor telephone.
22. Dallas Cowboys (26th)
Who’d thought that they would be playing meaningful football in Week 17?
23. Atlanta Falcons (23rd)
Thank you for making our Sunday very uncomfortable.
24. Los Angeles Chargers (22nd)
One more game of Anthony Lynn, Chargers fans.
25. Carolina Panthers (25th)
It will be interesting to see what moves this team makes in the offseason, especially at quarterback.
26. Philadelphia Eagles (27th)
Doug Pederson wants to be the coach in Philly next year. We’ll find out in the coming days if Philly wants him.
27. Houston Texans (24th)
This franchise does not deserve Deshaun Watson and JJ Watt.
28. Denver Broncos (28th)
I thought about passing Jerry Jeudy these rankings to finish but I was worried he would drop them.
29. Cincinnati Bengals (29th)
Two wins on the bounce. A third could end the Ravens’ season.
30. Detroit Lions (30th)
This team is so bad.
31. New York Jets (32nd)
Two wins in a row definitely warrants moving up a spot. At least Jets fans will have that to cling to when Trevor Lawrence wins the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year award in 2021.
32. Jacksonville Jaguars (31st)
They’re not even trying anymore.
