Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse men’s basketball team is, unsurprisingly, an underdog for its next game in the 2021 ACC Tournament — against No. 1 seed Virginia.
The Cavaliers (17-6) are favored over the Orange (16-8) by a 5-point spread for Thursday’s game in Greensboro, North Carolina. The consensus over/under is 133 points as of Wednesday nigt, according to Vegas Insider.
SU is coming off a dominant 89-68 win against North Carolina State, led by Buddy Boeheim with 27 points. According to Joe Lunardi’s bracketology, a win over Virginia can almost guarantee a spot in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
UVA is already guaranteed a spot in March Madness, and is well-rested for the quarterfinals after a 1st- and 2nd-round bye in the ACC tourney. The Cavaliers also had the advantage in their sole meeting this season, crushing the Orange 81-58 at the University of Virginia.
