Patriots agree to deals with Matt Judon, Jonnu Smith, 7 others: Source - The Athletic

The New England Patriots made a huge splash in free agency on Monday, agreeing to deals with a whopping nine players, including edge rusher Matt Judon and tight end Jonnu Smith. A source confirmed the moves to The Athletic.

The Patriots and Judon agreed to a four-year, $56 million contract. Judon, 28, had 34.5 sacks in five seasons with the Ravens, including six in 2020.

New England also agreed to sign Smith to a four-year deal worth $50 million. The deal includes $31.25 million guaranteed.

Smith, 25, joins the Patriots after a career-best season with the Titans. He had 41 catches, 448 yards and eight touchdowns in 2020.

Joining Smith on offense were a pair of wide receivers: Nelson Agholor agreed to a two-year, $26 million contract, and Kendrick Bourne will sign a three-year, deal worth up to $22.5 million. Agholor had 896 receiving yards and eight touchdowns last season with the Raiders. Bourne had 667 receiving yards and two touchdowns for the 49ers, his fourth year with the team.

Among other agreements, New England added defensive back Jalen Mills on a four-year, $24 million deal, nose tackle Davon Godchaux on a two-year, $16 million deal and former Jets defensive lineman Henry Anderson for two years and $11 million, including $4 million in incentives.

That wasn't it along the defensive line. The team also agreed to re-sign defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr., who recorded 49 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2020, for $30 million over four years, and brought back defensive tackle Carl Davis (terms undisclosed).
