The 2021 U.S. Open has eased into the quarterfinals at Flushing Meadows, with a pair of matches on both the men's and women's sides on Tuesday and Wednesday. Novak Djokovic is seeking a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title and is on course for a historic calendar-year Grand Slam. His 20th came in July at Wimbledon, where he beat Matteo Berrettini, who will be his quarterfinal opponent Wednesday. Djokovic rebounded after losing the first set to American Jenson Brooksby in Monday's fourth-round matchup, while Berrettini got past Oscar Otte after the qualifier injured his wrist early in the fourth set. This is the third straight Grand Slam meeting between Djokovic and Berrettini, and the Serb is 3-0 against the Italian all-time. The match is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

The latest Djokovic vs. Berrettini odds from Caesars Sportsbook list Djokovic as the -800 favorite (risk $800 to win $100), while Berrettini is tabbed as the +500 underdog. The over-under for total games is set at 33.5. Before making any 2021 U.S. Open picks, be sure to see the latest tennis predictions from SportsLine's Sean Calvert

Calvert is the renowned handicapper who called Stan Wawrinka winning the 2014 Australian Open at 60-1, the last Australian title won by someone other than Djokovic or Roger Federer. In 2019, Calvert took down a huge score on Dominic Thiem winning Indian Wells at 80-1.

And earlier in 2021, he nailed both of his bets for the Wimbledon men's singles final: Djokovic to beat Berrettini three sets to one (+275) and Djokovic to win and both players to win a set (+130). Anyone following his picks is way up.

Now, Calvert has locked in on the 2021 U.S. Open men's quarterfinal matchup featuring Djokovic vs. Berrettini and revealed his best bets. Head to SportsLine to see them.

Top Djokovic vs. Berrettini predictions

Among Djokovic's strengths is wearing down opponents, and that's what he did Monday night against the 20-year-old Brooksby. After dropping the first set 6-1, the Serb cruised through the next three 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. Now he faces a player who still appears rusty after being sidelined by a thigh injury he suffered at the All-England Club.

In previous meetings, Djokovic has exploited Berrettini's weak backhand, and that should be his approach again. Berrettini's strength is his big serve, but Djokovic consistently turns away even the biggest hitters.

The Italian typically holds serve about 90 percent of the time, but in the two matches against Djokovic this season, he has held on only 76 percent. And in four matches in New York, Berrettini is breaking just 20 percent of the time while Djokovic is at 41 percent.
