Here’s hoping the energy from the Philadelphia Eagles Week 1 win to start the season carries over into Week 2 when they host the San Francisco 49ers. This will be the Eagles home opener, and the first time fans will be able to fill The Linc since 2019, so home-field advantage should apply on Sunday afternoon.
We got a good sense of the kind of potential the 2021 Eagles have in their win over the Falcons, and not only did Jalen Hurts exceed the completion percentage benchmark the coaches had for him, but he also managed to spread the ball around and get a lot of different guys touches. Two rookies scored touchdowns in their first ever NFL action, and Hurts did a nice job of reading the Falcons defense and choosing the best target. Additionally, the defense put a lot of pressure on Matt Ryan and made adjustments early to tighten up their tackling techniques.
They’ll face a whole new set of challenges in Week 2 against the 49ers, who have two quarterbacks to game plan for, and a super aggressive defensive front. Still. the Eagles have some advantage with only one game of film for San Francisco to study, and again, they’ll get the energy boost from the home fans in The Linc.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.
